The easiest way to build a website is to use WordPress. You can use basic HTML if you like, but it will take much longer and isn’t nearly as flexible. If you decide to go the HTML route then the absolute best place to learn is w3schools.com, but be aware there will be a lot to learn! To build a website you will need 2 things initially – a domain name and a hosting account. If you follow the guides i lay out on this website you will not need the help of a web designer (you just saved yourself thousands).
There are many domain registrars and countless hosting companies. Of course you are free to choose whichever you like, but for the purposes of the tutorials on this website i recommend you purchase your domain name from GoDaddy, and get your hosting from Hostgator.
Why? These companies are the biggest and most reliable (which is why i use them) and i will be using them for each of the tutorials posted here. I will be showing screenshots and videos of the procedures you need to follow to purchase your domain name, hosting account and how to link them together. If you choose other companies you can still follow along but you should be aware that the procedures will differ.
